SMART Relationships.

We are learning to be SMART if something happens online.

We were learning about being SMART if something happens online that we don’t like.

I found it easy to write the sentences.

I found it hard to find the photos.

I really enjoyed making the colourful background.

Next time I need to stop and think about what to do.

A letter to my Mum and Dad.

WALT talk about what we are learning.

I wanted to share with my family what I was learning about sound

Dear Mum and Dad

I want to tell you something about sound.

Did you know that sound is energy? When you make a sound near sprinkles it makes them move and another thing is that vibrations can make water splash with a vibrating tuning fork.

Did you know that there are little particles all around you? When you make a sound the vibrations bump into the particles which bump into other  particles and it makes a sound wave. The sound wave travels to your ear and into your ear. It takes the message to your brain and your brain tells you what the sound is. That’s how we hear sound.

Recount Writing flooding.

Walt: to make our writing more interesting for our readers.
Flooding
On Friday I went to a big flood. It was out of Kaikohe.
I looked at the flooding and I said, “Wow.”
It was so deep that it covered over the fence posts and the fences. It covered the farm.
The water was rushing and gushing. It was really loud. I felt very scared when I saw all the water covering the paddocks and the fences. I had butterflies in my tummy and they were flying around my tummy and it felt funny.
I was at a big farm and we went around the farm. It was a massive farm. It was pouring with rain and me and my brother were scared but it was fun because there was heaps of water. The flood water was rushing and gushing everywhere. It was fun and scary at the same time.
I asked my mum if I could stop and see and she said yes.
I was excited. We saw trees covered with water. And there was water up to the fence posts. We were all amazed at what we saw.

Recount Writing: About the weekend

WALT to use the correct structure and language in our writing.
About the weekend
On the weekend I stayed at home. Me and my brother were on our devices and it was cool because we were playing some games. I played a cool game and it was fun. Then our dad called out to us and he told us to do a job. The job was doing the dishes. I had to dry the dishes and then put them in the cupboard. Me and my brother did the job. When we were done we went back to go on our devices and I said to my brother if I could go on his ps4 but he said no. So I went back on my device. I was on youtube and it is fun on youtube because I could watch some videos. It is cool when you watch videos because there are cool videos and I like the videos. But then it was night time so my dad told us to have a wash. So me and my brother had a wash and then we had dinner. After we had dinner we went to bed and we had a good night's sleep.

Reading: The waving sheep.

WALT recall the main ideas in the text.

Recount Writing: Bike riding

WALT write interesting stories for our readers.
On Saturday morning we decided to go bike riding
at the skatepark in Kaikohe.
First I woke up and my dad told me and my
brother to get our bikes and put them on the back of the truck.
When I woke up I felt tired but I still wanted to do it.
Then my dad started the truck and my brother
opened the gate.  Then my dad drove out of the driveway.
Then my brother closed the gate and my brother
climbed up in the truck.
Next, we got to the skatepark and then we took
our bikes off the back of the truck.
Then we rode our bikes on the grass.
After that, me and my brother played on the skatepark.
My dad was watching us.
Then my dad told us to come back to go back home.

Finally we went back home and we all had dinner
and then we had a wash and went to bed.

The Treaty of Waitangi

WALT write our ideas about the Treaty of Waitangi.
The Treaty Of Waitangi
The Maori people came to NZ first.
Then the Pakeha people came.
Then there was fighting.
But the Maori people sent a note to the King.
Then the King sent James Busby
and William Hobson to help.
So they made some rules.
They made 3 rules for the Treaty.
So the Pakeha people and the Maori people
signed the Treaty of Waitangi

to look after NZ.
